In order to apply for a driving license and undergo training at an authorized driving school in Dubai, you will need to submit the following documents:
  • original and copy of your passport with a residence stamp and a valid visa;
  • no objection certificate from your employer;
  • eight photographs;
  • recent eye test results.
The first step that you need to take in order to apply for a Dubai driving license is to get an eye test done at an optician. The application form for your license must be typed in Arabic and submitted to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), after which you will receive a temporary driving license that you must carry with you during the whole time you are undergoing training. The training for your Dubai driving license consists of a few tests: parking and garage tests, theory tests (35 questions on road signals, guidelines, and hazards) and the final one - the road test during which you will have a few minutes to demonstrate your aptitudes. After you pass all the tests, you can obtain your driving license within a few minutes. If you are a UAE resident and you already have a license issued in your mother country, you can convert it into a Dubai driving license.
